TERRE HAPPY / Therapy

My name is Valérie Farcot ex Ferré.

I am a therapist but also an artist.

“ in a very low voice the clay was telling the potter:

consider that I have been like you, do not ill-treat me “

Omar Khayam /Persian poet of the 11th century

Valérie Farcot ex Ferré, you have rediscover in 2009 the modelling with clay and found again some gestures learnt in your childhood. Did your sensitivity and your experience as a channel therapist help you in any sort of way?

of course! Being a self-taught instinctive, intuitive creative person of clay sculptures I let the “matter” guide me to let it be born and bloom. “my spontaneous movement, flow” Very often I start with closed eyes, after a few inspired and indefinite touches from my hands I open my eyes”

The form of the future sculpture emerges in a few seconds sometimes! So I continue and polish it up or not, the first flow.

I have the inspiration quite fast to give a name to the object that I feel carry a message, or just the print, the vibratory reflection of my mood in the “present moment”

I have usually no first idea of precise goals and very rarely live models.

To not freeze your work in bronze or by cooking the clay is it a deliberate choice?

Yes it’s true my pieces are not baked. They stay raw ,rough , unrefined without any surface treatment.

Clay is a matter that is “naturally alive”, an offering from mother Earth. This is why I feel she must stay like this.

I like to touch raw soil and still feel its vibration in my sculptures once they are dry.

It gives them a kind of fragility, like biscuits or porcelain. They ask to be touched and handled with respect and gentleness, like the objects that carries “ precious memories”, rare and unique left by our ancestors.

Some sculptures are born ephemeral (named Elves), very thin and fragile, I take a picture and leave them dry in my garden, like this to the wind and rain, earth returns to the earth.

From the creation of personal work to the birth of a therapeutic method of personal development and blossoming accessible to all, what was your approach?

Earth is a medium. This discovery was for me a revelation, a trigger on a personal level but also in my therapist practice. I organize individual sessions or by little groups open to all. To participate no training or requirement are necessary. Spontaneously under the hands of the participant, it’s the “inner earth” that speaks, that brings out the memories of the body, the blocked emotions.. The fingers give life to what doesn’t always manifest itself but very often clutters us: our thoughts, our outlines, our sufferings, our limitations. It’s something fascinating to witness and see how in contact with this living matter, spontaneous movement gives birth to a space of mystery, of freedom, to a part unknown to us.

As a channel, how do you intervene during the session?

I support, as a channel, the emergence of this “inner earth”, under every form or whatever its manifestation. This original way of doing can sometimes allow, in one session of a few hours or few days, the birth of an unsuspected part of us but yet so expected and wished for. Free what needs to be free, here and now, alone or in a group. It’s a fascinating and mysterious process where movement of the hands and movement from the inside melt together and are enlighten by the messages channeled.

If I understand correctly Valerie, to BE is to become “ sculpture of your joy”!

Yes because joy is our essence! This approach is original and let’s anybody have an intimate and personal movement. Open like this our whole being is a gift to ourselves, to humanity and to our Happy earth.
